You can cancel anytime. We require 30 days notice to cancel your subscription. Otherwise, no minimum commitments expected.

For the $100k – $200k and $200k – $500k packages, we prepare your books by the 7th of each month. For the $10k – $50k and $50k – $100k packages, the preparation is completed by the 15th. For the $0k – $10k package, we ensure readiness before the 30th.

Whenever possible we will import your data directly from the source, then categorize it for you. In some cases, we will need to upload data via CSV files (if the accounts can not be linked). In all cases, we do our very best to make sure everything is properly categorized. But if something needs to be recategorized we are happy to do it at no charge. 

We try to keep clients with the same bookkeeper from month to month because this way they learn about your business and can do the best job possible. However, if you would prefer to switch your bookkeeper that is not a problem. Just let us know and we will be happy to make that happen with as smooth of a transition as possible. 

All communication with your bookkeeper is handled via email. We ensure that you have a single point of contact within our organization for your bookkeeping, so you can reach out directly to them for all your inquiries and bookkeeping needs.

Yes. Bank feeds must be set up for all accounts. If certain bank or credit card accounts cannot be connected, additional fees may apply.

Linked financial accounts include any accounts that connect to your bookkeeping, such as:

• Bank accounts
• Payroll providers
• Payment service providers

We support both cash and accrual accounting methods for our clients.

• Bronze: Cash accounting only.
• Silver and above: Cash or Accrual accounting methods.

Please note: We do not support hybrid accounting methods and recommend cash accounting for most clients.

Yes, we set up the chart of accounts for your business during the initial setup. Additionally, we can make updates to the chart of accounts each year in January when a new year begins, ensuring it stays aligned with your business needs and any changes in financial reporting.

Xero has a much more user-friendly interface for business owners. You don’t have to be an accountant to use Xero, run reports, etc. That said, it is still a very robust system with integrations to all the major financial institutions. So it’s a win-win!

Yes! All our plans include a paid Xero subscription at different levels:

• Cashbook for the $0k-$10k plan
• Early for the $10k-$50k plans
• Established for the $50k-$100k plans and above.

Your Xero subscription allows you to access features like invoicing, bill payments, and expense tracking (dependent on the Xero subscription tier). However, these features are client-managed, meaning you can use them within your Xero account, but our team does not handle them for you.

It means that while you have access to features like invoicing and bill payments through your Xero account, our team does not process invoices, send payments, or manage these tasks for you. You can use these tools directly within Xero as part of your subscription.

Yes, this feature is available in our monthly bookkeeping plans for companies with monthly revenues of $50k and above.

As a Xero Platinum Partner, Cleer Tax has achieved the highest level in Xero’s accreditation program by completing significant training on the Xero platform and working with a significant number of clients. We’re able to expertly set up or migrate your business over to Xero, and can provide better advising and in-depth technical support.

Yes, if you no longer want our assistance we can transfer the account to you. We do require a minimum of a 3-month commitment if we have not prepared your tax return, or a 12-month commitment if we have.

After signing up for our bookkeeping packages, you will receive a welcome email with a link to a questionnaire, which will guide the onboarding process. We will then set up your accounting tech stack for bookkeeping, payroll, expense management, invoicing, and recurring payments, ensuring everything is scheduled and automated. Monthly, we deliver balanced Financial Statements on a cash basis by the 10th of the following month (or 5 business days after you share all necessary documents).

You will receive your completed monthly bookkeeping by the 10th of the month, provided we’ve received all necessary information from you. If your documents are submitted late, your bookkeeping will be completed within 5 business days of receiving your information.
